A day before challenge's end, my only decent idea was technically not doable within the basic rules set, so I simply was about to give up.

In fact this idea came from my wife, inspired by Arcimboldo's work. She also created the "vegetable head", which took a whole afternoon: I can safely say that this photo would not exist without her.

I simply installed the fridge in the studio, set the lighting and camera up, put a blue shirt on, posed and took the photo.

We both thank you all very much for the great comments and votes!

ETA: For those interested in the lighting setup, you can refer to senor_kasper's comment: he's got it 100% right :-)

Excellent question :-) Here we go:
- skin = endive
- nose + cheek = potato
- chin = pear
- mouth = tomato
- base of the neck = slices of cheese
- border of the hat = zucchini
- hair = pasta
- eyes = green and black olives + green pepper

All of these were fixed on a metallic structure with thin white wires.

Love it, thanks! Much kudos to your wife for creating this!

I wonder why you did not complete the effect by placing a 5th Speedlight inside the fridge's real light fixture. As it is now it looks obviously in the 'off' state. I am surprised you omitted this since you could have easily accomplished the task by disassembling the fridge to uncover the guts of the fixture, changing the fixture acrylic diffuser to a larger one to accommodate the Speedlight, rigging a radio trigger inside the roof of the fridge to make sure the Speedlight triggers in sync and then re-assembling the fridge, all of which you could have quickly accomplished in no more than 16 hours of work, not counting the time required for the reverse process to retrieve your Speedlight and the radio trigger after taking the picture. Come on, it is not like you needed to truck the fridge over to a lake and build a special table in the middle of the lake. I am afraid you are beginning to slack. Congratulations on getting the blue despite the blatant omission, but please try harder next time ;-)

You are so right about that. The true reason for this slack is kinda sad: I don't have the money for a 5th Speedlight. So as I am writing this, I am training a dozen of glowworms to deliver a burst of light on demand, but my cats are eating them regularly, so it is not THAT easy.

It seems like you could have come up with something, Christophe. The problem with you, is that you just don't go that extra mile for a shot! :P

Congrats! Your wife did an excellent job. It looks just like you! :D

Clever and creative. There's actually a campaign going on at the moment to raise awareness of the importance of washing hands, and it's called You are what you touch. It has pets and other animals graphically morphed into the shape of food items such as a cake, or a baby bottle. Anyway, this seems related and topical. Cool stuff.

This is a great image, as are most of yours. I really like the lighting in this one. I think you used 4 lights but I am not sure, I hope you will enlighten us with a diagram at the end. My guess is that your main light is a snoot above and to the right of the camera. The second (lighting the figure) is below the edge of the photo and in front of the subject, probably also a snoot. A third one inside the fridge behind the figure and a fourth one behind the fridge. How close am I? (10)
