Ok...

RECIPE RESCINDED! CAN'T LET POSTHUMOUS GET IT

Yes! I know it's another squirrel! But so many people have been teasing me about my squirrels, I figured it was time to make fun of my own shots.

One of the favorite restrains in the forums has been about squirrel stew. So I decided to build from there.

First I put a pot of bird seed out on the deck railing. I hoped that the squirrel would sit behind it, and then I'd be able to take a picture and pretend he was in it:

Here's one where he was sitting behind the pot:

After a little while, he climbed into the pot and started eating!!

Though I loved his expression on the first one of those three, he fit so nicely in the pot on the entry shot.

Next I needed to cook him. I was going to do it on a camp stove:

But I couldn't put it together so it would look right.

I almost gave up. But then I realized I didn't need it outside -- I could do it on the stove!

I brought the pot inside, placed it one the burner, and tried to get the same exact angle on the shot. (I'm not good at expert editing, so I wouldn't know how to adjust it if the angle wasn't right.) Once I got it aligned correctly, I turned on the burner to get the red glow. The reflection on the black stove top was a pleasant surprise.

I probably should have emptied the birdseed first. It smelled like roasted sunflower seeds in my house. :)

I'm still such a beginner at this. I really have no idea what I'm doing. It took about three hours to put it together. I'm sure others could have done it in about 15 minutes, since it was only two shots. But I am very happy with it, and all of the comments are great fun!!

I wish that the squirrel was facing into the picture. It would have flowed much better. But this is how he was sitting in the pot. If I put the stove controls on the other side, the handle would have been going the wrong way. I'm sure others could turn the squirrel easily. But if I knew how to do that, I wouldn't have to had a squirrel in my cooking pot! :D

Last night -- 105 votes, 6.7658. I'm guessing I'll be lucky to break a top 10 with this score -- I thought there were some truly wonderful images in this challenge! I probably lowered my chances even more, because I felt the need to go bump some up, I liked them so much!

Well done, everyone! And thanks for all the great comments. It was so much fun.

Btw, the stew was delicious! :P

I LOVE the squirrel shots! No need to apologize. In fact, if you had not mentioned, or received comments on, the thousands of squirrel shots you have apparently submitted :) I would not have likely checked out your other work, which is equally as great! Now that you have created a side niche on Squirrels, I think you should now proudly own that space. Keep 'em coming! I love them and I think you do a great job working them! (do the other stuff too)

Nuts, nuts, I'm in a rut. Always eating, eating, eating. Completely repeating. If I eat one more nut I'll burst, that will save me from voting this the worst. I need to hurry and finish this treat before the fire begins to cook my feet! I'll jump out and will never return, long before the heat has a chance to burn. (very funny image, made me laugh outloud)
