Very strange, haunting image. Not sure but what maybe the tilt is actually helping it, in the "haunting" sense :-) Congrats on HM!

Thanks for the many wonderful comments and votes in spite of my beginners mistake of forgetting to straighten the horizon. There are so many great photographers at DPC sometimes I think a good part of the challenge is being in the right place at the right time. This was one of those moments. We were camping at the beach at the end of the rainy season and about a hour before sunset a big storm rolled by. The darkness of the clouds combined with two ND filters allowed me to get the smooth look I was looking for. Several of you asked about a B&W version. I'll put it in the outakes with a straightened horizon :)

An enjoyable scene, the tilted, and horizon will hurt your score, but no matter. I really like the hues of the ocean and sky.

Solid, desolate image. Did you try it in B&W? I like the tonality very much though. Only that the line of the horizon reverses the perspective in which case a crop of the sky above would be beneficial.

The footprints on the beach spoil it a bit. It must have been extremely long exposure to get the sky and water to look like this.

Looks like one of those baby turtles heading for the sea.

I love the sky/ocean, and I love the beach/boat. But somehow they don't go together.

I really like this photo. However, the horizon isn't straight and that is kinda bothering me. The right side is higher than the left side.
