Well I had a lot of fun with this one. There are 4 shots that make up this image:

1st is the main background with myself as the model, this shot was taken just as the sun was setting and I am looking toward the setting sun. The moon I added in later.

2nd shot was the moon, I had to get up at 3:00 AM to get the moon just before it sunk behind the mountains.

3rd shot was the clock, done in studio with the light in the direction I thought the moonlight might hit it.

4th was an afterthought, I decided to shoot a topiary in studio, the same topiary was duplicated several times.

As nothing except the moon was shot at night I had to do some creative editing to make it look like it was night, including adding the stars to a patch of sky that is actually clouds.

Thanks to everyone! And to all the great comments. This has been a fun one.

Love this! I ran into the same issue of making the moon fit in realistically in a picture very similar to this similar. Everything else is perfect. I especially like that the viewer's eye is drawn equally to the two main themes in the title (walking, and midnight) Truly a magnificent image!

It could be an 8, but there are a few things that I don't like: The lower part of the moon, the trees on the right and the stars. An hour more in front of your computer and you could get a great work.

it all works, and is frankly, much better than a kinkade painting at transferring mood

Very nice work, my favorite of the lot. I love your use of blur on the trees to create the impression of depth. Watch out for light direction though: if the moon is supposed to be the main (only?) source, the trees on the right should be totally dark. Not a big deal of course :-)
