Challenge: Take Two II (Advanced Editing VII*)
Collection: 2011
Camera: Canon EOS-50D
Lens: Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD for Canon
Location: Denton, Texas
Date: Jun 22, 2011
Aperture: F8.0
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/2500
Date Uploaded: Jun 22, 2011

Remake of this entry:

Same sort of stunt and a similar angle. Different plane and processing choices, of course. Couldn't quite get the deep reddish smoke that I got in the original (The angle of the sunlight through the smoke was not quite the same), so I decided to see what an over the top treatment could do for it.

Post-challenge notes:
Not shabby at all, and I beat the average of the first version by a nice margin. About the only thing I can complain about is that Wendy and Jenn still came in ahead of me.

Looks like I was off with my guess about this ribbon-ing. Oh well :)
Still a good score though. And I don't regret giving it a 9 either.

Suspiciously Yo_Spiff fire effect PP. Great unusual image. Not sure about the "hot pixels" though...

Great timing to capture that silhouette. Or is it a montage? Either way, a great image conveying a great story...

Back to comment... Smoke on the waaaa-tterrr... LOL! The most played guitar riff ever. I'm not looking up old entries, but I think this might be Spiffy's and it might be VP's orange crush. Nicely done!

Wow, there are a lot of challenge entries with this exact title. Makes finding your original hard, but this is quite wonderful. Actually reminds me of a dream I had just last night.

A Yo_Spiff image perhaps? Seem to recall seeing this kind of orange-crush processing before?

Very nicely done, absolutely love that all you see of the plane is shadow..all the detail is in the clouds/smoke etc.

This must be yours Steve. Front page potential I'm sure. Wonderful split toning. I wonder if you're gonna have issues if you show the before and after shots :)
