This is not an original idea... the concept is taken from a photo at www.oneeyeland.com I wanted to do my best to recreate the image because I felt it fit perfectly for this challenge and loved the shot when I saw it.

I do wish this was advanced editing as I think this could be much improved!

Thanks so much for all the great comments, a ribbon, and a new personal best!

Oh yeah... thanks for the those two "1" votes! LOL, obviously this is DNMC right? :)

funny I saw this same photo and was going to use the concept on the white on white challenge but it was minimal editing. well done on recreating it and on your high placement.

Such a simplistic idea, yet speaks so loudly!

I love the white... and the textures... and then... the knife.

I may or may not be voting, so please do not equate my comment with any score.

On the whole i like this shot , the subtle shadows under the curling paper are just enough to give the shot depth but the knife does not appear sharp enough.

Ha, saw your other image in the free study. That is, assuming someone didn't have an extremely similar idea! This is a great execution of this idea. The texture of the paper is visible where it needs to be, the blade is a nice cool grey (definitely couldn't have done the shark fin here), and the shadows and lighting are soft, almost subtle. Nicely done. (and in case I don't comment and the image in the FS is yours, that one is cool too!)

A true High Key image. I would not cherish it but I admire the way it was done. 9
