Gravity well demonstration model at the temporary home of the Academy of Sciences in the South of Market district (the new facility replacing the old bioldings in Golden Gate Park should be open in 2008).

Held the camera as high as I could over the center and shot down, using the flash to stop the motion of the penny when it got in pretty deep.

Cropped, resized, rotated 180 degrees to make the penny's "condition" a little more obvious ... I like how you can see the reflection of the penny (even though that proves this is a model and not the real thing!).

Curves applied to RGB, Blue, and Red channels. Two applications of USM at 66%, 0.6dia, TH=5. JPEG=7/10.

Very arty. I'm not sure about the centre point though, it doesn't seem distinct enough to be worth looking at. What actually is the subject in this photo?
