This is the old mill of Vernon, Normandie, France.

Obviously, the wheel that was under it is lacking nowadays, resulting in this quite surprising architecture.

It is now a symbol of the city, and has been featured by many painters and photographers, despite the fact one cannot visit the inside of it, due to its fragility.

Technically, I wanted a light halo around it to add some drama, so I waiting for the sunset, which occurred right behind it. I also came back here on 2 different days, to catch some nice clouds. Bracketing was also used in order to raise the dynamic range.

Hope you like it!
Thanks for all the kind votes and comments.

Thanks! The vignetting was created by the processing itself (HDR + curves to enhance blacks & darks). I don't think the lens created it in that case, since it wasn't shifted at all. The noise was also due to the processing. Of course, I first removed it, but I liked this version more, as I felt it added some "vintage" feeling to it.

I think my favorite part is the foliage growing under the right side of the house, on the bridge. Congrats on the ribbon. Such an exquisite capture, Christophe.

loved this, gave it a ten. Lov how the sepia draws out all the detail in the living aspects of this photo.

What an amazingly cool structure! Combine that with the clouds, the reflections, and the spot on sepia toning and you have yourself a great photo.

I'm gonna take a guess here and say this is gyaban... its bizareness reminds me of

while the centre, slightly high composition reminds me of this (for some reason)

It feels like something he might submit.

If I'm wrong, take it as a complement! :)
