Ok. I give up. I like taking squirrel shots!!!

I tried other shots:

So I really did try to avoid the squirrel. But it called to me. It said "we want forks!!"

How could I resist?

I tried over 4 days. And NO These squirrels aren't tame!!

They do come down on my deck, but most of the time they grab something and turn around, or worse, they grab it and run off with it!! I currently have 8 pieces of silverware somewhere out in my backyard. Here's an example of why:

7 different times he grabbed the fork and ran off into the trees with it.

I tried for 4 days, usually a couple of hours each day. I adored this shot, but it was too fuzzy to save:

Here's a couple more from the shoots:

I should really go find the silverware -- I forgot it was all out there until I started typing this up...

6.8 with 91 votes, 2 favs and 19 comments. I'm so incredibly pleased. I figured that sooner or later I would get pummeled for entering a squirrel, or banned, or something! But I really have fun with these shots.

Thanks, all!! :)

Did you get the forks back yet? You should use those fancy plastic ones that are silver and look real! Then you won't have to worry when they wander off with them. Very cute. Congrats on another ribbon. Have you caught Timfy yet? :-)

Embrace the squirrel. You will not get pummeled entering a squirrel picture that is as creative, well executed and hilariously titled as the ones like this. And, it's not like you are a one-trick pony. When I go to your profile my system shows your seven top scoring pictures -- only one squirrel in the bunch. Shoot whatever strikes you, Wendy. You are doing well. Congrats on the ribbon.

This is a personal thing, & maybe it's because of where I'm from... but all the squirrels make me feel...*blech*
On to the photo- I like the choice in depth of field here. The sharpened fur of the arms and face are a nice contrast to the tail.

I think you hit upon the right idea!! Train a cute squirrel to do what you want for 6 months, then use the squirrel to ace the challenges for the next 6 months! lol. I can't honestly imagine how you do so well with squirrels. This one's too cute - cuter than the Absolut challenge. And the title!! Perfect!
