DAIRY QUEENED!!!! Dammit, my fault entirely. Sorry for wasting your time folks.

My mistake for the DQ. Wrong date. That's what you get with last minute decisions to enter the challenges. I decided about 15 minutes before rollover to choose 2 images for 2 challenges. Dumb dumb dumb!

I did the exact same thing! I was submitting an image for the June challenge, and at the last minute I thought, "what the heck, I probably have something that could go into Nat. Geo." I even typed in the correct date the image was taken when I submitted it and didn't catch it! Grrrr.

I'm sorry you got DQ'ed too. :( It's a very pretty image and you had a great score!

Lovely. Everything about it.

I may or may not be voting, so please do not equate my comment with any score.

Another Dr Achoo wannabe? Oh wait no it is you! No? Roz? No matter. (Isn't post rollover hindsight great?) Wow this is just gorgeous. One fine image. Glaringly professional. Superb BG (bokeh) and leading line from the anal appendage, through the abdominal segments. Focus starting on the synthorax right up to the compound eyes, of which BOTH are in focus. The colours and saturation is stunning. NG worthy and the title is perfect. A good trait in a nature/insect tog to identify his/her subject. I would be remiss to NOT vote this 10. Where do we sign for the release rights? end. boot licking here :)

First of all this is gorgeous. LOVE the color, the clarity and sheen on the Damsel's head, the way the grass emerges from the creamy bokeh. Beautifully composed. Now comes the "but." IMO, a shot of a bug in NG is going to need to have the entire bug in focus. So I can't give this a perfect score ... but I like it too much not to give it a good one.
