 This is the Bingham Copper mine in Utah. It is one of the largest copper mines in the world and can be seen from space. It has produced more copper than any other mine in history.

I'm floored this didn't ribbon. I have no idea what goes on in the mind of DPC voters. This is NG Cover worthy. The image evokes an interesting story within.

See, when you think it is just so-so, it comes in near the top of the pack. My own entry, that I really like a lot, is down in the middle somewhere.

A very striking image, I love the colour and repeating pattern and I think the composition is nice too. You have also captured the huge scale of the mine with the inclusion of the vehicles and mining equipment. Really well done!

Yes, publish it now. It almost looks model like. Fitting as an image for man's impact and excesses. I like the shallow DOF on the layered terraces leading me to the mining vehicles and hope it wasn't added in PP.
