Tripod mount. Just raised the dark side of the levels and increased brightness and contrast, each just a little bit. Touch of USM as well (R:1, A:.65, T:0)

I was on a road trip to Natural Bridge (great place!) and on my way back I took the side roads. I saw a sign for the town of Vesuvius, VA and decided to check it out. Interesting place, but I was on my way back to my main road when I saw these falls out of the corner of my eye and almost got into an accident! I was furtively looking for a place to turn around, but it was only when I got to the post office on the main road (VA 11) where I could. That was where some truck also turned behind me. The driver had seen me looking around and thought that I was the searching owner of these dogs that showed up on his proprty. I told him no, that I was just looking for things to take pictures of and then I saw those waterfalls. Well, wouldn't you know? He said that those falls were on private property which was owned by his mom! I asked him if I could take a look, and he said that he didn't mind! So I turned around and went back to the property. There, I saw his mom and talked to her. Sure enough, she thought the same thing as her son (as to my owning the lost dogs) and then those pups show up, very friendly and clean and looking like they definitely were not strays. I assured her that they were not my dogs, and told her about my encounter with her son. She, too, said it was ok that I take pictures so I did.
I decided on a long exposure because I wanted to convey the speed of the falls. The falls were in thes shade, but those darn rocks in the front were in the sun, and the clouds would not cooperate. Such an amazing place, I felt immediate peace and uplifting at the same time. I hope that my image conveys that sense of absolute elation and tranquility that I got from this most beautiful of places.

This is beautiful. Virginia (and West Virginia) have some beautiful places to photograph. Love the natural beauty here.

What a great story! I came back to this image hoping you would describe the location; what a surprise that they're on private property! I enjoyed the image, scored it a 7. Thanks for posting this one.
