Thank you so much everybody for the comments and the votes. This was such an exciting week.

Thank you all for the comments that keep on coming. I have to say a lot of what I know about photography I've learned from this site. I have made some great friends and there are a lot of great photographers (here on DPC) whose work is a great inspiration.***********************************

Recipe
Ingredients
6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
3 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well
Directions
Put the semisweet and milk chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolates in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)

Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Dip a fork in the milk chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.

Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes

Wow, what a score!! Congrats, Maggye, on both a new PB and first ribbon. Of course, beating that PB might take a while, LOL.

I'm actually rather amazed nobody commented on the slight leftward tilt...

Congratulations on your ribbon and PB score! This was my top pic (I actually voted for a change), although I must admit my choice was based not only on the excellent execution of the image but also on the subject of the image; I've got a soft spot for chocolate ;-)

The steam was hot (really hot) water (had to be since my house wasn't that cold), which I would pour in the cup and then take as many shots as I could and then reapeat until I had a good amount of pictures to choose from.

Oh the work that went in to this. Color is fabulous...sharp, and steaming coffee? Making assumptions that it's not tea or cocoa. Very well done...I love it.

Steam makes the image. The spoon might be better out of the picture.

The light on the right needs to be diffused where it hits the berries. The lighting on the strawberry on the left is much more attractive. The difficulty with this might be not enough light on the white cup but if you were to block the light being used on the right so that it hits mostly just the cup and then add a more diffused light or bounce some light back in on the berries on the right it just migh work. it looks very yummy though.

Very nicely done. Great colours, lighting and textures. My only minor complaint would be that the cup is slightly out of focus, in which I mean it's neither properly in focus as a foreground element, or properly out of focus as a background element.

Other than that, really like it, and could well imagine it in a food magazine or advertising brochure. 9.

MMMMmmmm those strawberries look absolutely delicious! The chocolate coating is more of a art design making it almost too good to eat...almost;-) And it's not just strawberries but some rasberries and blackberries dipped in chocolate by the looks of it. Nicely presented with a dainty plate that helps make the chocolate drenched strawberries fill the screen. Nicely paired with a cup of coffee or perhaps tea - the invoked idea of an afternoon snack. Lighting is fabulous showcasing all the tasty details and the vibrant reds of strawberries. Love the steam coming from the cup which is a nice attention to detail. This is a wonderful visual treat - a great big 10.

I love the textures of the berries, lighting, and steam. You have nice silhouettes and the colors go well with rich but fruity and elegant.

Lovely clean image with a pleasantly simple presentation. I may have blurred the steam a bit to make it less grainy and may have toned down the brightness of it (can steam be that bright?). But that is just a tiny nit pick. Bumping up.

well arranged; had preferred a little less DOF; overall a bit on the orange side; the steam looks fake. Still one of the best in the challenge
