I have no idea what DPC will make of this image. I love it, but perhaps the beheaded abstract portrait will be too esoteric for popular tastes. Maybe not. I hate that I cannot completely obliterate the light leak on the left because it might get DQ'd.

Lucky 7s? Please?

[post challenge]
Well, not quite 7s but a very respectable score for an abstract image. Thanks for all the fabulous comments and votes. And thanks Don, for the bling. Much appreciated. Especially 'cause I got vertigo doing this shot!

This was one of my favorites of the challenge I thought it might be yours. :) Is that you and how in the world did you get this pose?

Very, very nice. Love the colors and the feel of motion. The black background makes it pop, and the angle just adds to the feel. But, for me, the hand position just completes the shot - it nicely extends the lines and make a logic "stopping spot" for your eyes, increasing the sense of motion with the anticipation of more to come. More what is not clear, but I think that enhances the emotion.

Damn I could kick myself. Marvellous shot. Of course it's you :) and a D700 in your hands is killer. Those colours are just so rich and I'm amazed at the IQ of that 10x zoom VR.

Nice work, nice finish, and I never noticed the light leak until you pointed it out! Congrats on the extra bling, too!

Thought it was you, it's always in the legs then the composition. Well done, gorgeous shot.

Amazing image to get her so crisp, sharp and in flight(?) Great technique. Nikon D3/D700 and a fast prime or 70-200 f/2.8 lens with no flash? Watch it end up being a Canon :)
