The adult female tiger at the Denver Zoo. Mother to four cubs in 2010.

The commenters who noted the narrow DOF would be the first to complain about the lack of bokeh in the background... if the DOF was deeper.

I reckon had the DOF been wider you could have blurred the background artificially in PP legally (I did it in an entry of mine in an advanced challenge recently and my image was validated). That'd leave the tiger in good focus and the background happily boring :-)
Just a thought. Nice image. I love tigers. They're not afraid of water like lions, so they're masters of the land! I sort of see what tanguera meant about hugging them. Apparently you can train them into submission by flicking drops water from your fingers in their face from a young age. I don't know if I believe that or not, but if you could manage it while hugging them you might get away with it :-)

Really good depth of field on the face but it is a hair too shallow in my opinion as the plane of the depth of field falls away quickly over the front of the body. Otherwise a well centered environmental portrait.

Is the rest of him slightly out of focus or is it just the way his fur is?
