Since everyone is asking what this is I'd like to share a little about what this is, and why/how I'm doing what I'm doing.

So, the short answer is that this is a wall with graffiti on it.

Now to explain what I'm doing, and how I view this body of work.

I am a lover of street art, and I've started to find that through my photography I have been able to interact with the art in what feels like a more meaningful and deep way. By exploring it through the use of motion blur and creatively capturing it I feel like I find an unexplored side of the art, sometimes the photo feels very much like the art does. Other times, and this is very much one of those times, the final product feels absolutely nothing at all like the original peice. Funny enough, what appears as brown in this image was black on the wall - white balance went wonky and this was the wonderful result. The actual wall has a white line, a yellow line, a yellow triangle and eight yellow dots, the upper portion is blue, and the lower portion is black. It is a very industrial, hard-line graphic and constructionist type work, yet, this work came out much more soft and flowing, almost like notes of music on a page, or ... well, whatever you might see, but to me it feels like the ocean, and music.

Thank you everyone for all of your really kind and wonderful comments,(including those in the posthumous thread) and I'm very honored by your favorites, several of you have inspired me to do this work, and it's for that which I truly owe you a sincere thank you.

Did you ever try sending the series to 1x? I actually keep coming back to this, it's just a remarkably emotive abstraction.

Cool! I had no idea what it was, and more importantly, didn't care. I liked it just the way you showed it to me and didn't need to know any more. I see by your other comments I'm not the only one who thought that!

This one rocks! Love that white leading line, and the mystery of the other shapes and hues. The elements in this one seem to interact with each other. Go motion blur!

I appreciate your new love of abstracts and that you toss them into challenges, knowing how the collective will find them. Who cares? You found your audience. Look at that commenter's average! (My own vote was a 9, btw) Kudos, Dude!

Well done Cory for staying above a 4.x. This was one of the very first images that came up in voting. It was downhill all the way after this. The colours and textures in this are fabulous. And of course, I'm a big fan of the blur. Nice commenters score!

I have absolutely no idea what this is, but somehow it's still engaging and definitely visually interesting. I'm jealous of photogs who can do abstracts like this so effectively. I can't wait to find out what this is.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What a wonderful 'ready-for-the-wall' (or indeed gallery) image. Wonderful colours and an amazing of light. This is just beautifully constructed.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: Probably the best abstract I've seen on DPC (or perhaps anywhere else for that matter).
