 This is the gatehouse of Peckforton Castle, which is actually a 19th century manor house built in the style of a castle and sited on top of a hill.
The image is an HDR from 3 bracketed exposures.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and votes.
I'm very pleased to get 7+ score, very pleased to get a 4th place HM (which I haven't had before), and very pleased to see my average score nudge past 6 for the first time.

I do understand that some people thought this may not have been taken at night. Because there are no stars or obvious artificial light it's hard to tell. If you look you will see some weak light coming from the downstairs windows of the building. The picture was taken 1 hour after sunset, it was too dark to auto-focus and I had to use the illuminated display to alter the camera settings.
Of course, HDR brings out details that would not normally be seen at night.
Anyway here's an unedited original for comparison:

I have my doubts this is at night, based facts that you have blown highlights in the sky and that down the road is so well lit without any lights.

Nice image but there are no lights anywhere to indicate it is night time. But the movement of clouds indicates long exposure.

I'm not sure which is more interesting - the old gatehouse, or the tree across the way - reminds me of my travels across Ireland.
