Very nice progression shot and good lighting...it's really neat to see the simulated change of colors and seasons.

That is so cool. With the progression of color/age. Really imaginative idea!!! Love the contrast and the detail.

This shot is awesome....imo the 3rd and 4th leafs should be switched...there's still green on the 4th one.

This is a great idea and done very well. I'm not too sure about the placement of the leaves. Nothing really wrong with how they are, but I might like to see something a little spread out. I'm sure you tried lots of different looks.

White background for a minimal look was a good choice, imo. I would have liked the colors to pop just a little bit more against the white. Not sure how you would do that, since I"m not great at that sort of thing myself.

In any event...I do like the shot the way it is. Very creative.

I absolutely love this. The progression through life toward death is great.

This should have been in the top third ... I think its stunning and far better shows "plant life" than all winners combined.

Thanks everyone for such wonderful coomments. I am really happy to get a place in the top10.
For those who asked about these leaves, spent half an hour roaming around the aptt to find these leaves and I was luck to get these all the fading colors.
I have a lot to learn from DPC and I am looking forward to participate in more challenges.

Sheesh. Wondered how you got these leaves in all stages of growth and decline. Good job!
Congrats on your top ten finish...well thought out...well deserved finish.!!!

This is excellent. Not sure how you managed it but this is perfect for the challenge. A large number of entried 'fail' to convey Botany. This works though on all levels.

Nice capture conveying an interesting idea. Colors are terrific. Lighting is okay but possibly a little flat and you've almost lost the shadows. Maybe the single light source was too bright and multiple less intense sources would have improved.

great idea. Good "botany" image with a real theme to show the change of leave color in autumn.

Great intrepretation and presentation. The transition from green to dried is marvelous. The white background is perfect as is exposure. I really like the leaves that have shadows - maybe stronger side-lighting would have applified the shadows, making it even stronger. One of my top picks so far.

Neat .. and TOTALY on the challenge .. not just a macro of a flower .. which doesn't really depict "plant life" .. but this is honestly perfect .. challenge and photo vise .. this should definatelly place if I had my way about it .. if I could give it more than 10 I would.

Excellent. 10! The different colours look great! How did you find all the right leaves? I think if you made the 'circle/cycle' more obvious, rather than it looking like a line, it would be even better :)
