With all the financial problems submerging many countries across the world, coming up with this piggy bank idea was quite natural. Unfortunately.

For this setup, I hang myself to a structure that I built around the photo's frame (2 big metallic trestles on the sides, and a large wooden beam above). The cable was cloned out (only a small portion above my head was visible). As for the moneybox, similarly, fishing lines were holding it in place. Feather wings were simply glued to it.

Lighting was as follows:
- A softbox above the pig so that the coin slot was well visible
- A speedlite under the pig to make the snout shine :)
- Another softbox on me, from upper left
- A reflector on the other side, to fill the shadows in
- A strobe with bowl on the background

Simple processing, nothing fancy, mostly some dodge/burning and curves adjustments.

Thanks for the link Lev! This is an extract from the upcoming 1X "tutorial" book I believe. I knew I was featured in both the "standard" and "tutorial" 2011 books, but didn't know which photo they chose. Happy indeed :)

Oh, and congratulations to you too, I see you are on the published photographers list as well! So are Brin, orvaratli and ursula, at least (sorry if I missed any other DPC member). Congratulations guys!

I was mean this time and gave you *only* an 8, cause I knew I'd see it on the homepage. Well done and once again the staggering amount of work you put into your setups and lighting just leave me flabbergasted. Where on earth do you find the time?!

btw all you need now is to get a red in a challenge ending this week and you'll have an scalvert trifecta :-)
