I'm sure some of you recognized the bay of Etretat, France. This is becoming one of my favourite shooting place:

For that challenge, I decided to photography an overview of the bay, so I spent my day here, in order to take photos from morning to night.

I never created panoramas so far, so this was an interesting first. It is composed by several overlapping vertical shots, taken at various moment of the day. Stitching everything automatically did not work well with the software I tried, mainly due to color and exposure differences. I ended with creating 3 main parts with such software, and then stitched these 3 parts manually in Photoshop:
- 5 shots compose the night side
- 4 shots compose the sunset part
- 3 shots compose the day part

The moon is the one that really was in the sky that night (although I moved it more to the left when compared to its original location), as well as the boats (they were there in the morning).

Even if the result is not extremely creative, I really enjoyed playing with these techniques, gives me new tools for future submissions :-)

Thanks a lot for all the great votes! I'm really glad you enjoyed the view as I did, it's a very nice place.

I will provide a link to a bigger version of it after the challenge, if some are interested (the original is 13383x5350 pixels large, without counting the borders).

Congrats on the H.M. Christophe! I really like this image because you made the perfect blend putting the sunset in the middle.

Wonderful, Christophe. I had a sneaky suspicion this was yours. Quite surprised it didn't ribbon, to be honest. Really like this photo...the only part that made me "uneasy" is the middle sunset part. For some reason, it didn't fit in the image for me. Perhaps if it had set some more, and wasn't so prominent, it may have felt more cohesive and you would have had a more linear progression in terms of time from left to right? I'm not sure.

Anyway, it's late and I'm waffling on :) Great image and congratulations! First time I've been aware of anyone doing panorama's for challenge!
