Probably flop considering all those other artists who are good at expert editing.
But I had fun producing this.

[Nov. 5th, 2011 10:05:24 PM]

Surprised at how well it's doing, was expecting low 5's so you never can tell. I was tempted to withdraw this image before the challenge started, due to my dismal entry in the 'symmetry challenge', but I'm glad I did'nt.

At the end of the first day it was on 6.42, now 75 votes 6.55.

Well has dropped from the heights of 6.55, to 6.32 4 hrs before rollover, Thanks Vlado for the nice comment and fave. I really didn't expect much really.

So like herfotoman said, yes it's my son again, floating on his back in the swimming pool, flipped it round to give the impression he was flying quite liked the way it looked, also added a layer of fluffy white clouds to the photo, thats why you see the different shades of blue, by adjusting the saturation and hues I was able to achieve that look, also added a texture, some black and white vignetting. This was not the shot I was supposed to enter, but wanted to do a res shoot of Luke with his board shorts on, but the day before the challenge started it was too cold to go back in the pool and there was no way I was going to pressure him. He was a bit embarrassed about this shot, but got over it quickly when he say how well it was doing for me.

This was one of my favorites of the challenge. I love the tone and feel of it -- very dreamy. It did pretty well in a field with a bunch done by expert editing masters, but I ranked it higher in my voting.

Way to go Anita, one of my 10's.

Your son, again? His agent must be rich already. The dreaminess came through very nicely.

Dreamy dread, great use of muted color and grain. Im not usually a fan of inverting the frame, but you made it work.

The inversion is the thing here. Plus there's just enough of everything, not too much of anything. 7. Thank you.

To be young and floating about on the astral plane again, those were the days, excellent one.

LOVE this image. I'm not connecting with it Poe-ishly, but the colors and the ambiguity of floatation vs death is outstanding.

I love the treatment of the arms; somehow like a little baby trying to part the layers of fog to see see the world. A real delight to see a good, economic image in this challenge.
