 Taken from a Hot Air Ballon (Montgolfiere) around the Mont Blanc. After ascending to more than 10000 feet, the photo was taken during the descent at about 5500 feet.

Wow, I have no idea how this fell so far. What a great image, though it was a bit flat in tonal range, it is a unique viewpoint, and it works well as an abstract, I expected this to be on the front page.

Thanks you for your comments. The flight was very nice, with high visibility on the mountain ranges (Alpes), a very beautifull day.

This one looks to be straight from the camera. Some minor adjustments to contrast and color would have made a big difference in the impact, and in the voting.
Ballooning is one of the most enjoyable adventures ever. I hope that your whole flight was this nice. This is a magnificent scene!
