Thanks for comments and votes.

The setup was quite complicated:

The cans had two white lights inside. The room was completely dark (except for the dim light coming from inside the cans) and there was a big black background. The cans where on a couple of chairs. I decided to use as waste a couple of combs and two sheets of paper. I thought that inverting the colors of the objects could be funny (but I assume it wasn't so...).

I needed 3 persons besides me to do this shot. 2 of them had a wire thread to move the objects. For each one of them we used the flash at the beginning of the movement (close to the can) and then I followed with a small led light the object going out of the scene (I need to plan a reverse movement to get the effect of the object falling in the can).

All of this done 4 times for the different objects. Not easy in complete darkness and the most difficult thing was not to illuminate the background and the iron wire considering that this was basic editing and I couldn't delete anything.

First off I gave this a 5 (although I remember almost giving it a 6).

I started one of the threads about my top three votes were probably DQ's, I didn't, and never do downgrade a photo because I think it might be breaking a rule. One of my top three choices got a ribbon so we will see, I may (and hope) have been wrong, if so I can't wait to read what was done with the photograph because my understanding of the rules make "Basic" kind of boring to me. I hope it's a learning experience that will make me enter more photos.

I like your entry, wish I gave it the 6 because the effort and and time that I can see the setup took. Actually, I'd like to hear about how you captured the image. Nice job.

i gave you a 4. i appreciated the different lighting techniques you had used but it just didnt make me want to look at it. to me its two buckets with lights in, the motion blur doesnt do anything for me. maybe i should have voted you up a little for technical ability but i vote on how the picture feels to me and it was just meh! and not appealing, would i have it on my wall framed? no i wouldnt, nothing personal just my taste, you did a lot better than me though i got a 5.1 for mine, voters really didnt like mine.

I get the idea, and the blur effect is kind of neat. But why would you separate combs?

I'm amazed that you could capture this in one shot. Very impressive!
