:)

Very happy this did well. Thanks to everyone that took the time to vote and leave comments.

I tried taking this shot a few months ago but was never really happy with it so decided to give it another try. The moon was at a perfect phase, not too full and bright, and not too dark either. That allowed the shutter to be open just long enough to get the cloud movement but short enough for the stars to be relatively stationary. I definitely agree with the critical comments on the softness of the shot, though. The fisheye is fully manual so sometimes it can be tricky setting the focus and aperture. When I got back that morning and reviewed the shots, I noticed the softness and was planning to retake them the next night. Unfortunately, the weather turned horrible and I didn't get another chance.

On another note, I definitely agree with Richard's (Hahn23) comments that he posted in his entry on the interesting pattern of the low votes. I was neurotic (as usual) with how my scoring was going so was tracking my votes regularly throughout the week. Odd how the lower votes came in pairs like they were strategically done, i donno, who knows.

Thanks again everyone.

Wow... that is beautiful. Love the long curved line of the coast. I'll be anxious to see where this is.

I really do like this image. I think it could benefit from a little sharpening though. To me, it almost looks out of focus... or maybe it's due to camera shake? Maybe try weighing down your tripod next time to prevent the little shakes due to wind.

Excellent use of exposure time. The movement in the clouds is wonderful.

Way over processed for my liking, had great potential though. I feel you smoothed things out to much, in what could've been a gorgeous scene.

This is awesome! I like what the long exposure does to the clouds.

First image up in the voting, and it's a great one. Absolutely beautiful colors and tones. The slick, oily sea is what make it! Quite beautiful.

If it weren't for that one beam of light across the bay.....Awesome! 8

I would hope this wins a ribbon. That city light pollution really glows under the clouds, doesn't it! Lots of great elements of interest make this one of the top images in this challenge. Nice job.
