Photographer’s Notes
Okay, I confess. I was out shooting for the DPC 2011 WPL final round images but this one didn’t seem to fit. Still, I liked it. It’s been photographed before and entered in other DPC challenges, but in my humble opinion, never as well.
If that weren’t enough, I dedicate this to  Bear_Music. When I think of him, I think of him in this way. Not that he's a troll ... by no means ... but admit it, there is a certain likeness.
Near the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, at the base of the Aurora Bridge, is this wonderful Troll Sculpture. And yes, he (she) has a VW Beetle under his (her) left hand! The lighting is terrible; It’s crowded with tourists; A daunting photographic challenge. But I was reminded of one of the perks of high-end photography.
It’s better than a puppy to attract cute girls.
While I was shooting, four cute girls walked up and ‘struck up a conversation’ with me about my big DSLR camera and long lens. I agreed to take a picture of them with their P&S camera, if I could take a picture of them with mine. And I agreed to email them a copy. They agreed. This is obviously not that photo but you can see the whole shoot here:
In any event … I love the role of photographer … love the interaction it creates for me with fun, interesting, sexy, engaging, folks I would never otherwise meet.
