 I really wanted to do some star trail shots for this one, and I finally found a place in Dubai away from the ubiquitous street lights, but never found the time.

Got this shot on the last day of submission. I work at night, and I woke up at 6:30 p.m. and saw some cool clouds coming into the marina. Jumped for my camera, set it up on the balcony, and got the shot.

I'm amazed this did so well, glad to get an HM on this. Thanks to all for the comments!

Love the extra wide angle, makes it so dynamic. I don't mind the distortion here, it's different and that's good sometimes.

The natural curves of the land do interesting things with the fish-eye, and I think the clouds make this photo complete. Might be just a regular old skyline with-out the interesting clouds.
