 Yet another challenge that I had no intentions on actually entering. Then on Wednesday night, the idea popped into my head to pay tribute to one of the greatest authors of all time, Douglas Adams. His iconic saying has become synonymous with "goodbye" in some circles, so it was only fitting to post that next to the ring "left behind."

This was lit with a single flash from camera left, about .5 meters higher than the camera. Attached to the flash was a honeycomb, which allowed me to focus more of the light on the focused words, giving them more impact than if I used flat lighting.

The 100mm macro really made this shot possible for me. Not only did it provide the shallow depth of field that I needed to make the right words pop, but it also provide a narrow enough angle of view that I wasn't competing with the paper edges (something my 50mm 1.8 would have a hard time with).
Post Processing:
* White Balance
* Topaz Adjust
* Increase saturation and vibrancy
* Desaturate and lower contrast of ring (bring it back to white gold)
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG
