Thank you Abra - that is reassuring to know that I chose the more arty shot. Guess the competition was just too good:)

I gave your Art 2011 entry a 6 and I feel it was punished way too harshly. This is also a nice image and in a free study I would give it probably a 7 but I personally believe your entry was the more arty shot.

Thank you for the nice feedback. I recall this was essentially a Topaz preset - tutt tutt!! In answer to your question, it was Newlyn, between Penzance and Mousehole - lovely part of the world!!

Just browsing prompted by your posting about portfolio space. I really like the processing on this, and the dark blue of the hulls. It reminds me of what Robert bear_music does with his images of the fishing boats in Provincetown, Cape Cod. He ramps up the details in the clouds as well, as I suspect you have done. I was a west country lass for many years so I'm wondering what harbor this was taken at.
