Biography: I first became interested in photography when my mom let me play with an old Kodak Brownie. I was fascinated by the camera and how it worked. I remember opening the back and looking through the lens as I snapped the shutter. I must have only been 4 or 5 at the time.

I didn't get a real camera of my own until my parents gave me a Canon Rangefinder with a fixed 40mm lens for High School graduation. I took thousands of pictures with that camera, most were slides, which still need to be organized. Later I bought a Pentax K1000 35mm SLR and a couple of lenses that I used for years. In fact my daughter used that camera for her High School photography class, it still takes great pictures.

My first digital camera was the Olympus C-3000Z which won me my first ribbon here way back in Aug of 2002. I moved on to the Olympus E-20 and then the Nikon D70. My interest in photography kind of waned for a while and I stopped participating in DPC for a couple of years but I never forgot about it.

Anyway my wife BNC just got a new Nikon D40 and I just got a new D300 and I'm ready to rekindle my interest and get out there and take some photos. One thing is clear; the level of photography at this site is exponentially higher than it was when I was here before.
