    Biography: I have always thought I would be interested in photography (and have always liked good pictures) but the price of developing rolls of film for a few good shots, not to mention the storage problem, always put me off really getting into it.

    But then digital cameras came along, which appealed to me for the ability to take pictures without thought of the cost and because I'm a computer geek by trade and nature.

    So I bought a Sony DSC-F707 for a Christmas present in 2001 and have been well and truly bitten by the bug.

    Pictures which show me something I can't see with my unaided eye particularly appeal to me, so I have a special fondness for macros and photographs which freeze high speed action. But I'm certainly not averse to beautiful landscapes and emotive people shots either.
