Biography: I have been looking for a diversion from everyday life and this website is just the place, a fantastic opportunity to view and learn digital photography. The family and I just invested in a new Kodak, our first digital was a hand-me-down Sony complete with floppy disks.

I love running around with camera in hand looking at every cloud, puddle, bug, flower, person, building ... well you get the idea ... everything is a picture in my mind.

Okay ... 3 months later ... I am spending way too much time deciding on photo's and figuring out how I can mess them up in Photoshop ... "ahhhh" ... to quote my husband. At least I am investing in a new computer / monitor, so it'll take less time ... riiiightttt !

Now ... 9 months later ... I am sort of sick of every bug and flower. People and clouds are still cool though. My computer and monitor update (complete with new dsl connection) have been extremely helpful, no more finger tapping turned screaming while watching the clock waiting to get submitted before rollover. I still take too many pictures and spend an awful lot of time deciding which ones to work on and enter. Also, I should be ready for a camera update (according to my DPC friends that purchase should have happened about 4 months ago). I hope that with some self discipline I can focus on shooting more quality vs quantity images and do some PS homework.

I continue to be amazed at the talent on this website and it is such a thrill to place well among such extraordinary photographers. While I still whine often about my shortcomings (and those very few certain DPCr's) I find that I am still 100% addicted to this challenge.

11 months into this adventure and I did it ... a brand new bouncing baby Nikon D50 is now the youngest member of my family.
