    Biography: I earn my living as a blacksmith/ toolmaker/ knifemaker. I sell much of my work to Lee Valley Tools. (At least some of the Canadians reading this will probably know this company). I started into photography right from scratch in October 2004, when I purchased my Fuji S5100. My main purpose for buying the camera was so that I could photograph my knives for selling on ebay and elsewhere. But, being somewhat creative and artistic, I knew deep down inside that I might enjoy doing a little more than this with photography, once I got into it.

    This has proven to be true. I still consider myself to be very new and inexperienced in this pursuit, but I enjoy learning and trying new things. I have always loved the outdoors, and photography brings just another way of appreciating this.

    I realize that, as far as equipment and experience goes, I am nowhere close to the level of many here at DPC, but I am learning new stuff all the time, and I intend to squeeze all I can out of my little camera. I have appreciated the openness and willingness to share that I've seen in the folks here, in the short time since I've gotten involved with DPC, and this certainly helps one improve one's skills.

    I have a lovely wife (who I think has given up trying to make sense out of some of my pursuits, and bravely puts up with my craziness while rolling her eyes), three wonderful kids (grown), and one precious grandchild.
