interesting I note that I neither commented nor added it to faves and yet I love it and gave it a 10 in the challenge. Must have been in a hurry |

Quite fabulous - I love the light and how it steers the eye. |

Olga sat on the bench pretending not to notice. Sophia did not pretend, but stood casually contemplating Olga's benchmate who was nursing a pig. No one saw the man with the camera. |

This is close to cliché status; the people on the train station bench. But you have avoided that, which is quite an achievement! The green is great (by which I mean awful of course), and the bilingual rendering of the station name is also terrific. But the best part is how you have arrayed your cast of characters. The pair, like bookends for an empty bookcase. And the solo artist at the side, elegantly slouched in shadow but with foot and hand picked out by the stage lighting. It looks like a set for a modern opera, and I won't be surprised if she (the solo) begins to sing at any moment. If she does, I'll bet the bookends are not moved at all. It's a wonderful little tableau, stilled but loaded with potential energy. 10, and the Order of the Thumb:

This is one of my highest rating images in the challenge. Excellent capture, composition and colours... particularly fond of the varying tones of green in the wall, and the form of the shadows, giving the image a naturally occurring vignette. Well done.
Now that my comment about your photo is done, I wonder if you'd mind if I use it to launch a little comment experiment... something like K10DGuy's comments, but with a twist... the twist being, the story will move from one photo to another within the challenge.
Anyway... here goes:
------------------
Olga sat on the bench, waiting for her train to arrive. It was late... again. The service wasn't what it once was. Sure life was harder under communism, but at least the trains ran on time. Olga's local train station had undergone a minor refurbishment, but it was a small station in a somewhat disadvantaged area of the city, so it, like its patrons, didn't get the same budget for maintenance and refurbishments as the station used the more affluent and powerful citizens ...

Everyone in their bubble of comfort... afraid of themselves. |
