DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by scalvert: This might have been very cool if you could have focused more on the barite than the background (and even closer in). A less centered composition could have helped, too. |

DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by blueswolf58: Shallow depth of field. Camera focused on background rather than center subject, leaving it out of focus and in the viewer's mind, unimportant. Unfortunately in this case, it's dead center in this pic. A closeup of this rock could have proven very nice indeed. |

DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by karmat: I like the textures shown here, but the uniformity of color doesn't do much for me. Also, the camera is focusing on the backdrop/ground, and not the object, which is okay sometimes, but not particularly effective here, I think. |

DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by Artifacts: This would be better if the crystal were in focus instead of the background. Looks like your camera autofocus was fooled. |

DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by jpochard: I keep looking at this one trying to figure out exactly what you have here. The background looks like material. Anyway, the focus is on the background and the "rose" is out of focus. Texture is there. |

DesertRoseby jferreiraComment by Melina: It looks like the background is in focus instead of the rose. A very difficult subject.
