May be improved by better lighting, the flash is too direct causing bad shadows.
A tweak more in focus could help too.

To me, this picture is not very interesting- it isn't something I would want to hang on my wall. Technically, the main point of interest looks overexposed a bit. I would also have preferred a greater depth of field so that at least the entire remote and fingers were in focus. I also think the shot could be improved by featuring the remote more and not having it half in and half out of the frame.

it is burned... flash was way too close, you had to adjust aperture manually and/or put something in front of the flash (some paper to dimish the light). The idea was very good anyway.
