Moonsetby graceeComment by srbrubaker: I found this to be a stunning shot. And I thought it deserved better treatment by the judges. Then I considered the proposition that the moon is too small to be a feature. In the sky this is not so big a deal. But in the water its proximity ot the rock draws power from the rock - which is otherwise a very powerful focal point of the photo. Then it occurred to me: now that the competition is over, why not try a version with the moon removed. The clone stamp in Photoshop would make this quick work. And you may end up with an even more strikingly beautiful photo. Just a thought - tell me if you do.

Moonsetby graceeComment by blemt: I love the soft pastels here. The fog further softens the overall image. I wish the water was a bit stiller, so you had a better reflection, but this isn't really bad at all. 8 |

Moonsetby graceeComment by samtrundle: Very pretty scene - that mist is amazing. The focus seems a little off though. 6 |

Moonsetby graceeComment by Skip: what a beautiful, peaceful, serene moment you have captured here. i hate saying this, given the title, but i actually think your image would have been stronger had you cloned out the moon. i don't know why, but the moon just doesn't photograph that well, at least not with a wider angle. but here, you have such wonderful colors and have captured such a mood, the little dot of the moon is more a distraction than a strong subject or enhancement to the image. well, that's just my opinion, and you should in no way let it take away from how you feel about your image. it is wonderful, and i hope you do well with it! |

Moonsetby graceeComment by rmtm333: Nice capture of the early evening fog. Horizon seems titled which I would have straightened. Focus seems a little soft as well. I'm a sucker for B&W and this might have appealed more to me if it was. |
