Sunriseby AmyComment by e301: a number of problems with this image: those twigs sticking into the frame; the near-dark foreground takes up so much of the image, yet doesn't have the detail to produce much interest; the brightest part of the sky is badly over-exposed, and there's not much detail either in the remaining sky. |

Sunriseby AmyComment by jpochard: Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. The description says to create a photo that makes the viewer think "that's beautiful", so it will undoubtedly be very subjective. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)
That being said, I think this photo could be improved in several ways. First I would either capture more of whatever that right hand branch is attached to, or get it out of the photo altogether with either a different angle or clone it out. I think there is too much dark foreground adding nothing to the interest of the shot. I would cut it by about half. I know you're shooting into the sun, but I would like to see a bit darker exposure and use your editing to bring a bit more richness to the other sky colors while reducing the sun brightness some. And also, having both the horizon and the sun centered so much doesn't add any composition interest at all. I hope this is helpful. |

Sunriseby AmyComment by stphw: This photo has great potential. The colours look good and the clouds add some interesting variation to the sky. I would been nice to clone out the tree branches. It would be interesting to see how photos taken minutes later would of turned out. |

Best Freindsby AmyComment by pncowley: photo has a grainy look to it. the brick background wouldn't be my choice. Cute faces, though. |

Best Freindsby AmyComment by Evaan: Fun shot that captures the theme well, but I wish there was more contrast and highlights. Lighting needs more zip. |
