I get the political statement (even though “whales” is misspelled. How embarrassing! Or are you worried about Wales, part of the UK? Sorry, I digress.) Your choice of colors is certainly jarring and would capture my attention if I saw it in a magazine ad, for example. It is itchy, and it makes me uncomfortable with the notion of whaling. Retro border works. So you have succeeded well at conveying an emotional payload with your photo. Good! But I can't honestly say I like the photo.

Interesting contrasts here, as well as the lines. It seems though that the yellow is a bit oversaturated, but the sky adds quite a lot of depth. The road takes my eye further into the piece, and I stop to check the mail along the journey. Nicely done. Mailbox baseball comes to mind....
