Working hard or hardly workingby TMStampComment by jbirkman: I like the lighting, the focus, the colors, and the foreground. I find the subject's right shoulder and hand distracting. I think this might look better with some of the left side of the shot cropped out. This would also move the face a bit to the left and into a "rule of thirds" location in the frame. |

Working hard or hardly workingby TMStampComment by mycelium: Strong portrait - great composition, excellent use of DOF, good pose and lighting. Only criticism, really, is the brightness of some of the highlights, namely on the hand, and to a certain extent on your face and shirt, too. If you were shooting in RAW, you could have output a darker JPG/TIFF and done a faux HDR to tone down the bright spots. In any case, strong image, and good luck in the final standings. |
