Well, unfortunately there are so many things to improve here! The composition seems accidental, there is no attention on lighting, no details are visible due to lack of sharpeness... the colors are nice, though, so maybe you can try a different shot

Woah, Cooties on Crack. Especially that googly eyed one in the back.

cropping is tight, I don't mind that. I wish there was a bit more focus in the foreground. The glowing lime green in the back draws my eye off everything very quickly.

On black these things seem kinda creepy/not fun. I think another color that played off the playfulness and still isolates the object would have been better.

3 - Very nice portrait, but yes you 'cheated' primarily, in my opinion. Toning works well, overall seems a little .. dark. A more finely tuned crop, especially on the left, make this better in my opinion.
