Oversharpened, blown out and purple fringing.

These are probably all a result of technical limitations, so I'm specifically ignoring those factors and looking at what you got in spite of them.

And what you got was a beautiful moment captured at just the right moment, from just the right angle and enhanced by the natural framing and BG.

edge of the basket is slightly blown out ... nice composition and good catch lights in her eyes ...

Comment by Haneck:
it looks like the white-balance might be off here - There's nothing white in the photo, making it feel almost too dark. An interesting subject though! Good try!

IMHO the fuz ball should be in focus not the individual threads, the dark vignette dosen't work for me and the frame detracts from the image. Just my opinon.

First, I'm sure you've heard this a dozen times already, but it bears repeating...use the maximum 640 on the long side. You lose impact and details with a smaller size. On the positive end I guess, you get lots of comments. :D As a photo I really like what you've done in post-processing this. Great tonal range for a B/W - you've covered the range completely without blowing it out or losing details in the shadows. The focus on her face has a soft quality to it in a good way. Overall, nicely done. Just show it off a bit more. :) Good luck in the challenge.

Doesn't feel cropped quite right for me ... would like more on the left and less on the right of your subject. Nice tones, though ... 7

why so small? use the size allowance to your advantage to really show detail in your photo ...
