I looked at this picture for a long time and the more I looked at it, the more I started to like it. While the shoes are out of focus, the object in the background is...I can't quite figure out exactly what it is. I'm thinking perhaps part of a stadium seat. Am I right or even close? I'm trying to think of a symbolic reasoning for the shoes to be OOF, but can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps they are set aside for some activity that can't be seen beyond the "seat". I'm not sure if you meant the picture to be grainy, but I think if it were cleaned up, it would look a lot better. A program called Neat Image would clean that up nicely.
