Your Own Personal Jesusby ColeyComment by roz: when i first joined dpc i was often blown away by the lengths ppl would to to get the photo they wanted for a challenge ..
i remember one where the photographer had actually taken some wooden planks into a lake to get the photo ..
like i said on your other photo .. thats committment ..
this is an example of that same committment ..

Thanks to everyone who viewed voted and especially commented on my trees.
I was driving from a job and encountered this crazy fog. I have been away from shooting regularly so it was 'challenge' to overcome inertia and
actually get in the headspace of shooting. All of a sudden I saw this stand of snow covered trees. I initially drove by thinking to myself that looked really cool.
I went about a km past and said F it, and did a quick u turn. I am so glad I went back. There was snow drizzle and deafening silence ... really beautiful.
DPC has had some obvious changes over the years, but its spirit and the challenging of ones creative juices is still the same.
And I can tell you, it is just as exciting at the rollover last nite, as it was so many years ago.
Thanks again to all :D |
I always love reading the stories behind the photos ..
and this was a great story ..
particularly the F it .. and overcoming the inertia ..
I find that difficult too .. overcoming the inertia and motivating myself ..
but often when I do the 'payback' is wonderful .. being in the zone when taking photos .. it's like a meditation .. changes the colour of my day ..
then if a photo goes well here there's the validation and appreciation from other ppl .. which always feels nice ..
the other wonderful thing about this very unique site is we take photos that would never have existed if we weren't shooting for a challenge ..
if you're anything like me .. some of those photos taken for challenges have become my most precious .. especially if family were in them ..
many congratulations on this beautiful image getting the blue .. it would look amazing printed and hanging on your wall .. :) |
