The dog itself is beautiful. Not sure how you are doing in the voting but I think you could have improved on the beauty of the dog by cropping in on one side. If you crop in from the left and remove the plants you make the dog appear to be gaurding the bird cage. If you were to crop in from the right you would make it appear the dog is watching something in the plants. As it is now, its just a pretty dog sitting there with a lot going on around it.

Also on closer inspeaction it looks a little grainy around the dog's midriff - perhaps the result of over-compression?

Purdey is Pretty - the hightlights on her (?) glossy coat really accent her shape. However the background is distracting and the cuttof at her feet is arbitrary. I'd like to see more of her against a subtle but contrasting background.
