Library_pond_entryby hkpdsoComment: I have to think the pond is the main subject here. But if it is, then getting closer to it would be a good thing. Would like to see some details on the lilly pads.
Adding more to my comment: Looking at the image, there is a leading line and a more interesting subject. The water line to the left of the pond more or less points at the large tree in the upper middle right. If you were to frame the shot with a low point of view and aim the camera at the large tree, you have a much more dynamic image. The image as it stands has no dynamic feel at all. The shady side and the sunny side don't balance well and the sky is pretty much totally blown out with no details at all. Getting a low POV in front of water, especially very still water, gets you reflections that you miss being so far from the water. |

Last Light, Monday by C_Steve_GComment: Hello, I am assuming the main subject is the orange light on the clouds since your title says that. But as a main subject, the clouds fall short. They are way too contrasty and too hard edged. There are too many other elements of equal visual weight in the image. They are all competing and none of them are interesting. The whole image is too dark and too contrasty to be appealing. The left and right sides of the frame are balanced well. I think some dodging in the grass foreground could have a big impact. This needs something that leads the eye, and unfortunately there isn't one here. Since there is not a foreground subject, getting a lower perspective may have helped. Having some closer texture of the grass in the foreground would help out a lot. |

Swamp Land by WildpurpleComment: Overall a very interesting image for the eye to travel through. The array of colors and textures are pleasing and not over processed. I think a slight vignette would be an asset here and maybe a lighter upper center to take the eye to the center of the image.
Coming back to add more: I think a crop off the bottom would be a good thing. I say that since I think you intended the tree trunks to be the main subjects. The eye goes to lighter areas of the image first, then it travels around to find other things. The bottom part of the image is the lightest and has basically nothing there to look at. The more interesting part is in the water from the middle of the image and going to where the tree trunks start. A 16:9 crop would be good here, or even a square crop would work too. |

Before the lockdown by JanjaComment: Nice city scape. The treatment does nothing for me though. The comp is pretty good with the canal leading into the background and houses acting as fencing on both sides. There is enough in the image to keep interest for a little while. |

Milky Way over the Donna Kay by HikerBoyComment: Good work on getting some light inside the cabin. That alone creates an out of place sort of image, then you add the Milkyway and it really pops. |
