I love your resourcefulness! The only thing I would suggest is when using odd lighting like this convert to black and white. That way your viewers focus is set on the place where the most light is hitting(her face)not the muted colors of her clothing. It would get rid of the color casting (orange tint) and give you more freedom to play with your light/contrast. That's just the way I do it though...
She's a little cutie btw.
