Silent Night (Feliz Naviduck) by vawendyComment: Originally posted by vawendy: I was bracketing, and two of the shots in the bracket were longerish exposures, so I kept thinking "don't be blurry, don't be blurry!" all the way home. :) |
Does that mean the duck wasn't in all three exposures? Or at least in the same spot?
Reminds me of this shot:
Your entry was my only ten of the challenge, but if the duck was traversing the scene and in a different location for each exposure, I don't see how this can't get DQ'ed given the precedence set before it. Without the duck in that exact location, I would have given this a four or five at best. |

redby tvsometimeComment: I like this shot only because I have no clue which lady has ownership of the bags. The one on the right is farther away, but the one of the left has her back turned like she couldn't give a shit.
It's intriguing. Giving this a nine. |

Lego marching band does the Golden Ratioby Jules1xComment: If it wasn't for the dinosaur and the chicken, I would've given this the much lower vote. It's not anywhere near the technical chops of some of the other entries, but that's irrelevant. Cleaning up some exposure/lighting issues, I'd hang this on my wall. People would look at it. People would talk about it.
Also, is that a mermaid? Why doesn't the skier have skis?
Gave this an eight. |

Golden Ratioby chaliceComment: Couldn't tell you what it is, but I enjoy this photo. It's a cacophony of everything, but somehow it works.
Here's one instance where I wish it was a little sharper; not through editing, but simply better focus.
Giving this a nine. |

Make a wish...by MinsoPhotoComment: Taking a guess, Minso?
Doesn't matter, it's my top vote in the challenge. It attempts to follow some inane rule, but more importantly, it's just a good image.
Critiques:
- I would have either put a little more catch light on her left eye or burned it right out. It gets caught on her cheek, but it's in that 50/50 range on her eye.
- I might have let the background travel further to the left. Not much, just enough so you know it there and not an hair more. |

how many of the commentators would hang this on their wall?
be honest |
I would. It's my style of photography though.
The other ribbon winners on the front page right now wouldn't have a chance of making it on my wall though. I've always loved uncontrived portraiture of interesting people.
Sorry hotpasta, thought I would respond here since I can't in the forums. |

there, but for the grace of God, go iby klkitchensComment: For me, it was the processing that kept it from my upper tiers of votes.
Pushed this down to a seven instead.
Was really hoping this would finish higher, had four shots ahead of yours, and only Minso's finished higher. |

The Attic Roomby rooumComment: Going to start commenting on all entries where I voted a one.
Sorry, all I see is a blurry mess and dust spots. Abstract photos fall into two categories; I either love'em or hate'em. Unfortunately it is the later this time. |
