This is my favorite photo of the challenge. I like that it's the weight of the tree that most strictly follows the rule of thirds, and the rest of the photo is unconstrained by an artificial need for literal compliance with a custom-cum-rule (even if it thus meets the challenge to a somewhat lesser degree). This is an artful work that is worthy of framing.

Very nicely done. Good processing to bring out a full tonal range. Sharp but not too sharp. Texture and vignetting are effective. The expression is unique and interesting, and lends personality and individuality to your subject.

Ah man! I took a break from DPC for a while, and of course it was during this time that you finally make it to the front page. I knew it would happen sooner or later! Congratulations for your well-deserved recognition for an excellent photo. The depth of field and the crisp focus really bring this Gothic library to life. Well done, sir.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for cat shots. I like the combination of sharp focus and gaussian blur; the sharp/soft is very cat.

Flames, glass, and a long exposure--the three combined work nicely. The reflection on the right of the glass detracts from the crisp presentation.

I like the framing and the composition, but I would wish for a bit more sharpness on the coon's face and eye.
