rust & woodby kitty_blackwellComment: Nice image, and well focused, but the strong shadow on the right side really detracts quite badly. There are several things you could try: wait for your shot until the sun is positioned well, crop the shot to eliminate the right half, shoot with a muted fill flash, or use a large piece of white cardboard or other white material to reflect some light onto the dark part of the subject. |

Are You Well Red?by dsidwellComment: Very graphic, nice color (possibly a tad oversaturated, but it works) and technically well exectued. The black border even works, which I'm usually against. Nice entry -- it should do well. |

May the implements of slavery rust to pieces!by fulcrumComment: Nice composition, nicely graphic use of line and tension (althouh I want to see the points, this is perhaps part of the tension), good lighting and contrast on the subject. The background color is bland and doesn't contribute or support the strength of the subject. I'd suggest a more saturated color, one that's opposite on the color wheel from the color you're trying to emphasize. |

Love Bugby DonatienComment: Nice use of Hue/Sat -- very effective for the image and topic. |

Water and Rustby egillibsenComment: The splashing or falling water makes the image very busy --- perhaps a very high shutter speed with a strong flash would stop the action, making a sharper image? |

Spring has Sprungby willtataComment: The circular and linear elements in the subject offer some interesting graphic possibilities that were not capitalized on. Also, the DOF seems a little too shallow to capture the whole subject, but it's definitely a compromise re: getting nicely blurry background. Since this seems to be a pile of junk, I'd suggest that you can move things around to compose your shot -- for example, the vertical thing in the background. |

On a quiet day, you can hear Cleveland rust!by BillEComment: As I'm sure you've noticed, this is one of many factory shots, but this is better than most because of the strong horizontal composition -- including the smoke. Having a really nice day helps a lot as well. Not very rusty tho (don't worry, no points off for that). |

Rust never sleeps. (now we know why)by BradComment: Finally -- I voted on half of the photos, and I get to the Neil Young fan... I figured every other picture would have this title. Interesting concept, nicely executed. I'm not sure the heavy black border benefits the image. |

Trustby lasuzieComment: Great title! Perhaps for web viewing, a tad more unsharp masking would help. |
