Adult Supervision Requiredby incubusComment: I like this image a lot ... FWIW, I'd rate it higher in another challenge (DOF, motion, free study, etc, just not risk). |

Autumn Berriesby MaryOComment: Love the tack sharp focus and background bokey. Beautifully rich colors as well.
I'll be voting up those images that illustrate DOF, and voting higher those which have a sharp focus, and higher still those which have both a foreground and background element to illustrate DOF. |

"I'll catch you." by essayComment: Bonus points for sharp focus on a moving subject!!! And I love the colors. The beautiful silky-smooth green contrasts well with the yellow on the bee and the red in the flower.

Little & Largeby MAKComment: Love the composition, focus and colors (and wow, what a beautiful horse). The Sound of Musicby rebel36Comment: Bonus points for having both a foreground and background out of focus. The thing I would ask myself is ... why that particular spot to be in focus? Does it mean anything to you or the viewer? Could picking a different focal point create a more compelling image? |

iMAGE 1506by lpatrickComment: For me, shallow DOF is going to be illustrated by either an out of focus foreground or out of focus background, or better yet, both. I can't tell that anything in this image is out of focus except the non-existent background. Everything that is visible seems sharp, so I can't really judge this image to be shallow DOF. |

Mothby troy77Comment: For anything that has a head, I always prefer the focus be on the eyes. The wings, even being out of focus, would have made a lovely pattern. But with the head out of focus, the moth virtually becomes headless. |
